Who we are

Roots of Locavore: Connecting Communities Through Culture
At Roots of Locavore, we believe in the power of culture to bring people together. Our mission is to celebrate and preserve African heritage while creating opportunities for collaboration and community building.
We provide nourishing meals, essential supplies, and resources to homeless individuals from African backgrounds, offering comfort through the familiar dishes of their heritage.
In collaboration with schools, we preserve culinary traditions by creating educational programs that immerse students in African culture through hands-on cooking demos, food history, and tastings.
Additionally, we produce local festivals and cultural events, raising awareness and appreciation for African food, music, and traditions.
Thank you for being a part of our journey.

The Motherland Festival is our flagship event, designed to bridge diasporas and shine a light on Africa's rich traditions. Through this celebration, we aim to:

Promote cultural understanding.

Support emerging artists and small businesses.

Create a platform for African voices in the UK.
